Hello everyone,

We have arrived in the Dominican Republic. We got here on Thursday, 2/5. We live in the town of Cabrera on the NE coast of the DR.

Our flights went smoothly and me and Steve and our 4 cats and our dog Panda are currently living in a motel room right on the ocean. It's been pretty windy and rainy since we arrived and about 75 degrees. Very comfortable.

We have already made new friends and have been having a great time. Quite a whirlwind so far. Today we are at our house trying to make it kitty proof. Everything here is open air, which we love, but it doesn't keep my kitties safe so we have quite a bit of work to do before we can move in. It's hard to get things done here. Supplies and materials are not as readily available and the pace is much slower than in the US.

I will write more soon so stay tuned. There will always be alot to write about so once we get settled I will write some more.

Muchos besos, Connie

We love it already though and we think we will be very happy here.

I was bracing for Steve in a Speedo and was pleasantly surprise not to find that. Sounds like you're doing well - we miss you both!

We are very happy to learn that you are all safe and sound and warmer than we are!

It is the last week of the 2009 Tom & Mom Cat Special and it is crazy busy here.

It is also not 75 degrees--in fact it snowed yesterday.

Hello Connie and Steve!

Abrazos, Denice y Andy Twyman
PS: I like your blog, it's missing pictures! :)
